Grace Martin
Franklin.

Grace Martin Franklin is an abstract artist based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her work is inspired by the way memories often linger as fragments, including colors, shapes, feelings, or fleeting impressions rather than complete images. Drawing from landscapes, florals, and organic forms, she creates layered paintings that invite viewers to slow down, look closely, and discover their own connections within the work.

Working primarily in acrylic, Grace allows each painting to unfold through intuition, experimentation, and layers of paint and mark-making. While memory often sparks the process, the finished work is not meant to represent a specific place or experience. Instead, it creates space for reflection, curiosity, and personal interpretation.

Grace earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design with a Studio Art minor from Meredith College before returning to complete a degree in Art and earn a K–12 teaching license in visual arts. Alongside her artistic practice, she spent more than a decade teaching visual arts. She is currently a studio artist at Artspace in Raleigh, where she works from Studio 214. Her work is currently exhibited in the North Carolina Museum of Art Museum Store and has been displayed in galleries and businesses throughout North Carolina.

Grace's work is currently displayed in various studios and businesses in North Carolina including The North Carolina Museum of Art Museum Store and Whiskey Kitchen in Raleigh as well as Hart & Hill Interiors in Wilmington, NC. She is an artist member at Artspace and participates in various showings and fairs in Raleigh.

Grace donates work to charities each year including Pips Rescue, Dress for Success, Arts Together, Band Together and other charities in NC.
